As one of the largest hospitality management companies serving national and state parks, Delaware North was seeking a digital solution to improve the customer experience of their resort websites. Each property is tailored for a specific audience--a point that is reinforced by the design of the property and surrounding environment. With different price points and experience offerings, our client wanted to make sure each website maintained its property’s unique brand, while offering a flexible way to customize and launch new sites as needed.
In addition, the technology behind each of the sites was as diverse as each of the properties. All of their websites were running dated content management systems that required significant effort to maintain and update.
Big images, beautiful vistas and compelling narratives that showcase the natural beauty of surrounding the resorts and their unique locales,in order to engage visitors and excite them about all they could be doing on their next vacation.
We visited select resort locations, spent time learning from staff and visitors, and used that research to inform our strategic approach to design the customer experience. Our designers developed a unified visual system to enable rich digital experiences for the larger high-end resorts, and a simplified version for their family-friendly affordable options, and everything in between.
These diverse experiences are built on top of Sitecore’s component-based, content management system, with each website re-skinned to take on the look of the local resort. All sites share the same component library reducing development effort to design and launch additional sites. Delaware North now has complete flexibility for updating, expanding, testing and managing content locally, while allowing the larger organization to manage everything within a single CMS platform.
